How to download the software

Just click on the blue underlined name of your preferred language. Press the option key while clicking, to ensure that your browser understands you want to download a copy of a binary file.

Sword Dream 3D.

The latest version for application itself. The package you'll download includes a manual and a tutorial adventure in three D.

This is the final release of the game, replacing the public beta version which we publicly showed during May 1997. All known bugs were fixed.

Sword Dream 3D version 2.1 requires Mac OS version 7.0 or greater and QuickTime. To play a 3D scenario you'll need at least 8 MB of RAM and a 68040 or PowerPC processor. A 2D scenario can be played in only 2.5 MB of free memory (so a 4 MB Mac is fine) and requires a 68020 or greater processor.

There is no Windows version available, nor there ever will be one. This is a Mac-only product.

Sword Dream 3D is available in English, French and Italian. Choose your favorite language!

Sword Dream 1.7.1

The previous version of the game. We are not making this old version available any more: Sword Dream 3D can run the old 2D scenarios which were made available for Dream 1.x.

Sword Dream version 1.7.1 required Mac OS version 7.0 or greater, and a 68020 or better processor. It ran at native speed on a PowerPC Mac. A 2D scenario could be played in 2 MB of free memory.

Sword Dream 1.7.1 was available in English, French and Italian.

Scenario Maker 3D

ScenarioMaker is a simple application which allows you to create 3D scenarios for the Sword Dream 3D game engine. You just click to build edifices, arenas and places. With a few more clicks you can place monsters, treasures, riddles, traps, and non player characters. For a preview and a better description, click here.

This is Scenario Maker 3D developer release 7. The program requires Mac OS version 7.0 or greater, 8 MB of RAM and a 68030 or better processor (a 68040 or greater is suggested).

The program natively supports the advanced Mac OS 8 user interface and switchable themes under Mac OS 8.5 and greater.

Scenario Maker 3D DR7 is available in an English version. A previous version, DR5, is also available in Italian version.

The main manual is downloadable separately. The main manual is available as a Microsoft Word 5.1 document or an Adobe Acrobat file, is about 100.000 characters in size, and covers all details of scenario construction - 2D or 3D. Together with the application, on the other hand, you will find a supplementary, smaller manual: entirely devoted to new features, tips and tricks, and 3D construction techniques.

Mister Monster Maker 3D

ScenarioMaker is used to create the places that players visit. Mister Monster Maker is a companion utilitiy that scenario designers can use to create the entities met in those very places. The current version offers expert advice, and allows you to create items, traps, monsters, spells, riddles, wandering monsters, barkeepers, encounters, monster behavior descriptions, and shops. Mister Monster Maker 3D requires Mac OS version 7.0 or greater and 4 MB of RAM. You also need a copy of the free HyperCard Player, version 2.3 or greater, which you might download from the Claris website if you don't own it (almost everybody does - check the floppies or CD-ROM which came with your computer).

Mister Monster Maker 3D version 2.3.1 is available in English only.
